Second Chances

Second chances are few and far between because the world we live in today is not very fond of our mistakes. That is why we need to take full advantage of every second chance we get because if we take them for granted our lives may just take a dramatic wrong turn that might cause endless suffering for as long as we live. Second chances are very fond to me, see I was born as a six months premature baby. Why you ask that is a very good question that I still have not found the answer to. It all started because my parents were involved in a very intense fight, which cause my mom's water to break before I was ready come to this world by my own power, (by the way my parents are divorced and my dad lives in Mexico which means that I hardly ever get to see him, but that is another story for another time.) Anyway my lungs were not yet developed enough for me to be able to breath on my on. The doctors told my parents that I was not going to be able to survive and if I did I was only going to lived about a week (what do they know.) Well it turns out that I did after all survived, unfortunately the lack of oxygen had its consequences and it caused me to have a physical disability. These has made my life very challenging for me, but it is not like I am death my brain works perfectly fine (ok maybe not perfectly fine, but fairly ok and that is all I can ask for.) there are many more people that can't even think for themselves so I considered myself lucky. Besides it is these challenges that had made my life interesting and worthwhile. See I love to prove people wrong about what I can and can't do it is fun to see the look on peoples faces that think that I'm incompetent!(Suckers!!!!!!!!! Not a bad word.) People usually do not expect much from me, that is why I decided to have high expectations for myself. I think heaven's doors (if indeed I am going to heaven we will see) were not yet open for me because life decided to give me a second chance to help others that are less fortunate than I am.

In fact these is how I got my name (Victor which means winner or winer whichever you prefer.) because I managed to escape from the cold hands of death. So take advantage of the few second chances that life gives us because if we don't we might loose something very value to us. Keep in mind that we do not know what we have until it is gone! Keep I a look out for any second chances that you get and take full advantage of them or be prepared to pay the consequences!
