Peer Pressure (please take the time to read it)

We are faced with peer pressure probably everyday of our lives, but the people that are affected the most by it are teenager. In case you are wondering peer pressure is when someone that is almost the same age as you (usually there is a 3-5 year difference) pressures you into doing something you are uncomfortable with, but you do it anyway because you want to be cool and you don't want to look bad in front of your friends and everybody else around you. What good is it going to do you if you look cool just for a moment if afterwards you will have to pay a dear price for just one moment in the spot light? Then that moment is gone is that moment in the spot light worth all the trouble you when through just so you wouldn't be considered a looser! Most of the time it is really not worth it because that moment in the spot light can scar you for life or even cost you your life. Like my friend Nathan Martinez two years ago, he wanted to be cool he wanted to fit in, so he started hanging around with the wrong crowd and one day just for riding in the same car with gang members he got shot. It was a bullet that was not even meant for him. The worst part is that he was only fifteen and I never even got to say goodbye and tell him how much he meant to me, but I will always remember him in my heart. So next time someone asks you to do something stupid think to yourself does the end justify the means if it doesn’t
have the courage to say no because you never know what the price of being “cool” is going to be!

R.I.P.

Nathan Martinez
