Second Place Sucks!

Well yesterday, Mr. Locke posted the individual score for acadec and it turns out there was a three way tie for second place Noemi, Jonathan and I. Although Noemi was rank number two because of her last name, I was ranked number three and Jonathan four. Melissa beat all of us with the score of 923 oh well it happens! At least my team is in second place instead of last and plus one of my five talented rookies was not there, but she will be back and I hope that helps out a little.

Anyway Mrs. Grimes and I played chess on yahoo and she has beaten me twice. I need to start paying more attension to stuff. Mr. Locke left to Washington D.C. and Nazir to one of the most famous and respected Ivy League Universities, yea Harvard how did you all know (well it has only been announced like a thousand times in the announcements at school and in Mr. Locke's blog). I wish them both the best and Mr. Locke take lots of pictures I want to see what Washington D.C. looks like!

Something weird a few days ago I had I dream and it was not one of those Martin Luther King Jr. dreams either I dream that I got shot and that I died and after that I woke up and I started thinking that life sucks. Then I came to the conclusion that maybe I started thinking that life sucks because I am afraid of dying. Oh well the important think is that I am not dead and that I am ok. Well I call my dad in Mexico a few days ago and it turns out he almost die for real three men with guns came and told him that if he did not get out of his car (which he had just bought like five months ago) they were going to shoot him. So they took his car and thankfully it was nothing more than a scare.

I guess what they say is true we don't know what we have until is gone and when is gone we lose it forever! My mom left to Mexico last Saturday and supposely she was suppose to come back today, but she always says she is going to come back a certain day, but she never does now she said she is going to come back on Monday. So it has just been my brother and I and I don't like that much because he bosses me around a lot do this, do that, and the worst thing is he does not even ask nicely he just orders me to do it like if he was paying me or something! Don't we all love big brothers!

Lately I been sleeping real late because I stayed up a couple of times late at night and my sleeping time got all out of whack. Like a few days ago I was awake for like 20 hours. Someone told me that I was crazy (you know who you are lol) so then I told that person hey crazy people change the world just ask Albert Einstein and Christopher Columbus. Isaac wakes up pretty early usually I go to sleep like at 3 or 4 a.m and wake up at 7 am and Isaac is already online. That is all I do most of the day be online and stuff, sometimes I read, or just think about stuff, but then I realize that my ideas are crazy and I just laugh about them! Well I am going to sleep is 3:35 a.m. everyone take care and I will see you when I see you, alright peace!

Get To Know Me and Other People From Aquarius (Is not like there is nothing better to do)!

Traditional
Aquarian Traits

Friendly and humanitarian
Honest and loyal
Original and inventive
Independent and intellectual

On the dark side....

Intractable and contrary
Perverse and unpredictable
Unemotional and detached

Aquarius About My Sign...
Aquarians basically possess strong and attractive personalities. They fall into two principle types: one shy, sensitive, gentle and patient; the other exuberant, lively and exhibitionist, sometimes hiding the considerable depths of their character under a cloak of frivolity. Both types are strong willed and forceful in their different ways and have strong convictions, though as they seek truth above all things, they are usually honest enough to change their opinions, however firmly held, if evidence comes to light which persuades them that they have been mistaken. They have a breadth of vision that brings diverse factors into a whole, and can see both sides of an argument without shilly-shallying as to which side to take. Consequently they are unprejudiced and tolerant of other points of view. This is because they can see the validity of the argument, even if they do not accept it themselves. They obey the Quaker exhortation to "Be open to truth, from whatever source it comes," and are prepared to learn from everyone.
Both types are humane, frank, serious minded, genial, refined, sometimes ethereal, and idealistic, though this last quality is tempered with a sensible practicality. They are quick, active and persevering without being self-assertive, and express themselves with reason, moderation and sometimes, a dry humor.
They are nearly always intelligent, concise, clear and logical. Many are strongly imaginative and psychically intuitive, so that the Age of Aquarius, which is about to begin, is much anticipated by psychic circles as an age in which mankind will experience a great spiritual awakening. The Aquarian philosophical and spiritual bent may be dangerous in that it can drive the subjects into an ivory-tower existence where they meditate on abstractions that bear little relevance to life. On the other hand it can help the many who have scientific leanings to combine these with the Aquarian yearning for the universal recognition of the brotherhood of man, and to embark on scientific research to fulfill their philanthropic ideals of benefiting mankind. When some cause or work of this nature inspires them, they are capable of such devotion to it that they may drive themselves to the point of exhaustion and even risk injuring their health.
Both types need to retire from the world at times and to become temporary loners. They appreciate opportunities for meditation or, if they are religious, of retreats. Even in company they are fiercely independent, refusing to follow the crowd. They dislike interference by others, however helpfully intended, and will accept it only on their own terms. Normally they have good taste in drama, music and art, and are also gifted in the arts, especially drama.
In spite of the often intensely magnetic, forthcoming and open personality of the more extrovert kind of Aquarian, and of their desire to help humanity, neither type makes friends easily. They sometimes appear to condescend to others and take too little trouble to cultivate the acquaintance of people who do not particularly appeal to them. They do not give themselves easily - perhaps their judgment of human nature is too good for that - and are sometimes accounted cold. But once they decide that someone is worthy of their friendship or love, they can exert an almost hypnotic and irresistible mental attraction on them and will themselves become tenacious friends or lovers, ready to sacrifice everything for their partners and be faithful to them for life. However, they are sometimes disappointed emotionally because their own high personal ideals cause them to demand more of others than is reasonable. And if they are deceived their anger is terrible. If disillusioned, they do not forgive.
Aquarians work best in group projects, provided that they are recognized as having a leading part in them. They have a feeling of unity with nature and a desire for knowledge and truth that makes them admirable scientists, especially astronomers and natural historians. They may excel in photography, radiography, electronics - anything connected with the electrical and radio industries - aviation and everything technical. On the arts and humanities side their progressive tendencies can be expressed in writing, especially poetry, and broadcasting, or as welfare workers and teachers. Some have gifts as entertainers and make good character actors (having an ability to mimic) and musicians. The more psychic among them possess healing gifts, especially in curing the mentally sick.
Among the faults to which they are liable are fanatical eccentricity, wayward egotism, excessive detachment and an inclination to retreat from life and society, and a tendency to be extremely dogmatic in their opinions. Aquarians can be a threat to all they survey or a great boon for humanity in general. Circumstances - for example, continuous opposition to a cause they hold dear - may cause the atrophy of the openness of mind that is one of the Aquarian's most attractive traits. They may express a lack of integrity in broken promises, secretiveness or cunning. Simmering anger and resentment, rudeness or, worse, a tense, threatening silence which may suddenly burst out in eruptions of extreme temper, these are all part of the negative side of the Aquarian. This can also reveal itself in a sustained hatred for enemies that is capable of enlarging itself into a misanthropy toward the whole of mankind.
Possible Health Concerns...
As Aquarius is said to govern the legs from knees to ankles and the circulation of blood, its natives are susceptible to ailments particularly in the legs and ankles, such as cramps, and are also liable to spasmodic and nervous complaints, as well as wind, catarrh, diarrhea, dropsy, goiter and delirium tremens - so that the avoidance of alcohol is important for those Aquarians who have a taste for it.

PROBLEMS THAT MAY ARISE FOR YOU, AND THEIR SOLUTIONS
As with all sun signs, we all have unique traits to our personalities. When these traits are suppressed, or unrealized, problems will arise. However, with astrology we can examine the problem and assess the proper solution based on the sun sign characteristics. As an Aquarius you may see things below that really strike home. Try the solution, you most likely will be amazed at the results. If you find yourself on the receiving end of the negatives below, it is because you are failing to express the positive.
Problem: Being left all alone while others enjoy the companionship you long for.
Solution: You should practice expressing your humanity by accepting people the way they are and not find too much fault in them.
Problem: You always seem to miss the boat when it comes to love.
Solution: Try letting down the mental guard that you keep on your emotions that stops you from being the self you long to be.
Problem: You always seem to miss out on the better jobs or big promotions at work.
Solution: Learn to use your positive side in teamwork and group effort, the lone wolf approach will get you nowhere.
Problem: You seem to become physically ill more than you should.
Solution: By repressing your emotions you drive the unrest deep inside where it can cost you in terms of health. Express your feelings but do it with tact.

Something To Think About or Just Get a Headache....

The Ten Most Dangerous
Mistakes YOU Probably
Make With Women?
And What To Do About It...”

Here Are The Top Ten Reasons Why Men Fail With Women? And How To Make Sure YOU Avoid Every One Of These Deadly Common Mistakes...

MISTAKE #1: Being
Too Much Of A “Nice Guy”

Have you ever noticed that the really attractive women never seem to be attracted "nice" guys?

Of course you have.

Just like me, I'm sure you've had attractive female friends that always seemed to date "jerks"... but for some reason they were never romantically interested in YOU.

What's going on here?

It's actually very simple...

Women don't base their choices of men on how "nice" a guy is. They choose the men they do because they feel a powerful GUT LEVEL ATTRACTION for them.

And guess what?

Being nice doesn't make a woman FEEL that powerful ATTRACTION.

And being NICE doesn't make a woman CHOOSE you.

I realize that this doesn't make a lot of logical sense, and it's hard to ACCEPT... but GET OVER IT.

Until you accept this FACT and begin to act on it, you'll NEVER have the success with women that you want.

MISTAKE #2: Trying To
“Convince Her To Like You”

What do most guys do when they meet a woman that they REALLY like... but she's just notinterested?

Right! They try to "convince" the woman to feel differently.

Well, I have news for you... YOU WILL NEVER CHANGE HOW A WOMAN "FEELS" WHEN IT COMES TO ATTRACTION!

Never, ever, EVER.

You cannot CONVINCE a woman to feel differently about you with "logic and reasoning".

Think about it.

If a woman doesn't "feel it" for you, how in the world do you expect to change that FEELING by being "reasonable" with her?

But we all do it.

When a woman just isn't interested, we beg, plead, chase, and do our best to change her mind.

Bad idea. One that will never work.

MISTAKE #3: Looking To Her
For Approval Or Permission

In our desire to please women (which we mistakenly think will make them like us), us guys are always doing things to get a woman's "approval" or "permission".

Another HORRIBLE idea.

Women are NEVER attracted to the types of men who kiss up to them... EVER.

Don't get me wrong here.

You don't have to treat women BADLY for them to like you.

But if you think that treating a woman well means "always getting her approval and permission for things", think again.

You will never succeed by looking for approval. Women actually get ANNOYED at men who seek their approval.

Doubt me? Just ask any attractive woman if Wussy guys who chase her around and want her approval annoy her...

MISTAKE #4: Trying To “Buy” Her Affection With Food And Gifts

How many times have you taken a woman out to a nice dinner, bought her gifts and flowers, and had her REJECT you for someone who didn't treat her even HALF as well as you did?

If you're like me, then you've had it happen a LOT.

Well guess what?

It's only NATURAL when this happens...

That's right, I said NATURAL.

When you do these things, you send a clear message:

"I don't think you'll like me for who I am, so I'm going to try to buy your attention and affection".

Your good intentions usually come across to women as over-compensation for insecurity, and weak attempts at manipulation. That's right, I said that women see this as MANIPULATION.
MISTAKE #5: Sharing
“How You Feel” Too Early In
The Relationship With Her

Another huge and unfortunate mistake that most men make with women is sharing how they "feel" too early on.

Attractive women are rare.

And they get a LOT of attention from men.

Most men don't realize this, but attractive women are being approached in one way or another ALL THE TIME.

An attractive woman is often approached several times a DAY by men who are interested. This translate into dozens of times per week, and often HUNDREDS of times per month.

And guess what?

Attractive women have usually dated a LOT of men.

That's right. They have EXPERIENCE.

They know what to expect.

And one thing that turns an attractive women off and sends her running away faster than just about anything is a guy who starts saying "You know, I really, REALLY like you" after one or two dates.

This signals to the woman that you're just like all the other guys who fall for her too fast... and can't control themselves.

Don't do it. Lean back. Relax.

There's a much better way...

MISTAKE #6: Not “Getting” How Attraction Works For Women

Women are VERY different from men when it comes to ATTRACTION.

You need to accept this fact, and deal with it.

When a man sees a beautiful, young, sexy woman, he INSTANTLY feels a sexual attraction.

But does the same apply for women?

Do women feel sexual attraction to men based mostly on looks? Or is something else going on?

Well, after studying this topic for over five full years now, I can tell you that women usually have their "attraction mechanisms" triggered by things OTHER than looks.

Have you ever noticed that you see a lot more average and unattractive men with beautiful women than the other way around?

Think about it.

Women are more attracted to certain qualities in men... and they're attracted to the way a man makes them FEEL than they are to looks alone.

If you know how to use your body language and communication correctly, you can make women feel the same kind of powerful sexual attraction to you that YOU feel when you see a hot, sexy young woman.

But it's not an accident. You have to LEARN how to do this.

And ANY guy can learn how...

MISTAKE #7: Thinking That It
Takes Money And Looks

One of the most common mistakes that guys make is giving up before they've even gotten started... because they think that attractive women are only interested in men who have looks and money... or guys who are a certain height... or guys who are a certain age.

And sure, there are some women who are only interested in these things.

But MOST women are far more interested in a man's personality than his wallet or his looks.

There are personality traits that attract women like a magnet...

And if you learn what they are and how to use them, YOU can be one of these guys.

YOU DO NOT have to "settle" for a woman just because you aren't rich, tall, or handsome.

Let me say this again: If you know how to use your body language and communication correctly, you can make women feel the same kind of powerful sexual attraction to you that YOU feel when you see a hot, sexy young woman.

MISTAKE #8: Giving Away
All Of Your Power To Women

Earlier I mentioned that it's a mistake to look to a woman for approval or permission.

Well, another similar tactic that a lot of guys use is GIVING AWAY THEIR POWER to women.

Said differently, guys try to get women to like them by doing whatever the woman wants.

Another bad idea...

Women are NEVER attracted to men that they can walk all over... Women aren't attracted to Wussies!

MISTAKE #9: Not Knowing
EXACTLY What To Do In Each
Type Of Situation With Women

Now I'm going to blow your mind...

A woman ALWAYS knows what you're thinking.

Women are approximately TEN TIMES better than men at reading body language. That's ten TIMES.

I know, it might be hard to believe. But for example, if you're out on a date with a woman, and you want to kiss her, she knows it.

And if you don't know exactly what to do and exactly HOW to kiss her, and you just sit there looking at her and getting nervous, she won't help!

And this goes for ALL aspects of women and dating...

Approaching a woman, getting her number, asking her out, kissing her, getting physical... everything.

If you don't know what to do in each situation, you will probably screw it up... and LOSE EVERYTHING.

And you KNOW it.

It is VITALLY important that you know EXACTLY how to go from one step to the next with a woman... from the first meeting, all the way to the bedroom.

MISTAKE #10: Not Getting HELP

This is the biggest mistake of all.

This is the mistake that keeps most men from EVER having the kind of success with women that they truly want.

I know, guys don't like to make themselves look weak or helpless. We don't like to ask for help.

The Lakers Became the Fakers!!!

Yesterday, I was glad to see the Lakers fall to the great Detroit Pistons’ defense. It was the best NBA finals series that I have seen in awhile since Michael Jordan hit the game winning shot against Utah, as his defender fell down to give the Bulls yet another title. This game had it all it had drama, offense, great plays, great defense (especially by the Pistons), but most importantly of all was the teamwork the Pistons displayed from the first game to the last game of the series. I mean they had a killer defense they all scramble around to get a hand in the face of who ever had the ball. If by any chance the ball handler managed to get away from his defender another one would immediately step up to take his place. The Pistons were the so-called "under-dogs." Everybody wrote them off including myself, but they did not care they just played with their heart and soul as a team and they knew that if they kept fighting together and didn't get intimidated by the Lakers anything was possible. It all started in game one when the Pistons surprisingly went into Staple Center a.k.a. LALA Land and stole game one from the Lakers. Then in game two, the Pistons were all set up to take game two from the Lakers, and go back to Detroit with a 2-0 series lead, but Kobe hit a miraculous three pointer with 26 seconds left on the clock in the 4th quarter to send the game to over time and the Lakers never looked back. So the Lakers went back to the Palace with the series tied 1-1. Everybody thought the Pistons were on the ropes because of the dramatic fashion and disheartening way the Lakers had taken game two from the Pistons, but to everyone's surprise they came out with tremendous resiliency and came out firing right from the get go. In fact, I think the Lakers never led in game three, nevertheles, the question on everybody's mind was are the Pistons for real our is this just divine luck? Once again the Pistons ignored the opinions of everyone and the only thing they believe in was themselves. Oh boy did they prove everybody wrong as once again they beat the Lakers in game four to take a commanding 3-1 series lead. By these time most of us were thinking is not over yet, after all this are the Los Angeles Lakers they always find a way to win, but this time they came across with a team with heart, soul, and determination to win and they prove it on the court as Detroit, had already decided not to let the Lakers spoil their quest for their long awaited championship. So yesterday was judgement day for the lakers it was either win or go home! They knew what they had to do since they had been there before, they won three straight championships one after another and never failed to win it all everytime they got to the end of the road which is the NBA Finals, but that winning streak was put in jeopardy going into game five. They started out ok, but by the end of the second quarter they started feeling the pressure and eventually collapse and by the end of the third quarter the Pistons had a thirteen point lead and from then on they never looked back and went on to become the first Eastern Conference Champions since the 1990 Detroit Pistons team won it all (I think that is right, but I am not sure). It was a very especial moment not only because Larry Brown won his first NBA championship and became the first coach ever in NBA history to win a championship in the NCAA and in the NBA, but because it was against the West who an Eastern Conference team had not beaten since 1990 (I think I am not sure), but most importantly of all because it was against the Los Angeles Lakers the evil and hated empire of the NBA. This series has thought me that it doesn't matter who you are or where you came from is how much you want something and how dedicated you are to accomplish that goal that matters or in simple terms it doesn't matter who you are is how you play the game!

Again, I cannot stress this enough. The Pistons played with heart and soul and put it all on the line, but most importantly of all they played as a team they helped and depended on each other and prove that the under-dog can rise from the rafters and do whatever it puts its mind to as long as dedication and hard work is present and accounted for!

The life of a Team Captain

Last Wednesday was my first real experience of being a team captain I was in charge of all the rookies in the white team, it was just me and no other veterans, but I didn't mind after all I am a team captain and my job is to look out for the team. I got to know people in my team that I didn't know like Tonya and Briseida, who I was impressed with because they learn the creed pretty quickly and they seem like they want to work hard for the team. The other two rookies that showed up were Baldemar and Angelica, I was not so impressed by them because I already knew what to expect, well I expect the team as a whole to do good. I hope I can be a good leader because all of them are counting on me. Well I must say is feel good to be the team captain of a winning team. I must also say it feels horrible to be the team captain of a losing team, like I mentioned before my team was in last place and I was sure glad when Mr. Locke announced that the white apocalypse had won the banner for the creed challenge. My rookies probably don't know what it means to win in an acadec competition, but I will make sure to make them understand the meaning of winning and the sadness of defeat. By the way my first round pick Jonathan Vines couldn't make it, but he will be back for the next meeting and that will improve our chances greatly, at least I hope it does. I still think is weird when they put my name as a team captain, but it is also a great experience and so far I like my team now is up to me to make sure we work hard, a couple of people had told me that I have a good team, but having a good team is meaningless if my team is not dedicated and do their best to meet their expectations. Well I am looking forward for our next competition specially since is going to be rookies and veterans put together that is going to interesting. Everybody take care and I will see you when I see you!

The beginning of the End

It has been more than a week since the beloved it portable 17 shut its doors to never again be used by another teacher or student, instead it is going to demolished into pieces and all that will be left is the memories that we shared while in creative writing, English I Pre-AP, or Acdec. It serve its time well Mr. Locke told me that it was one of the oldest portables in the school. Honestly I feel sad that the place where I spent my time after school studying, sitting around talking to people, or bugging Mr. Locke with question after question is going to be tore down, but I guess all things must come to an end, but I am happy because it has had a good life. I still remember when we played countless games of jeopardy and when I practice my speech for the first time out loud in front of all the Acdec regional team and everybody clap for me even though it was all messed up, but the strangest thing of all is that Mr. Locke closed the door for one last time in his birthday is like the portable was trying to tell him happy birthday, you will never see me again, but the memories will live on. I remember clearly when I told Mr. Locke as I saw the room completely empty that seeing the portable like that reminded me of the ending of the hit TV show Friends, you know that last scene when all the six friends walked out of the apartment and said goodbye to ten years of laughter and friendship and even though they will still be friend probably for as long as they live is never going to be the same. I remembered clearly when I asked Mr. Locke as we were walking out of the room for the last time if I could wait there until my ride came by to pick me up and he said no and I asked him why and he responded with some sadness and said "because I want to be the last one to walk out and close the door." As I thought about what Mr. Locke just told me it was hard for me to believe that one little portable could be loved by so many people and that it was going to be crushed into pieces never to be seen again.
Then Mr. Locke told all of us inside that it was time to walk outside and say goodbye and so we did and as Mr. Locke pushed the door closed for one last time I remembered seeing the room filled with hollowed emptiness and as I heard the door slamming shut I remembered all the times that I stayed there by myself waiting for my ride to pick me up. When I got home I started thinking of how Mr. Locke's life was similar to the Friends finale, I mean when friends ended Monica and Chandler walk out of their apartment with their two babies they had been long awaiting, and Mr. Locke closed portable 17's door forever with his long awaited son on the way. I bet that he will never forget the birthday when he said goodbye to that old piece of wood that we all came to know and loved. That portable was like my second home, it had everything food that Mr. Locke bought for us, a TV, and a radio I had fun through out all my years that I spent there in portable 17 (which by the way the number 17 is the day of my birthday). When Mr. Locke and I were outside talking I told him so this is the end and he said "no this is only the beginning of the end." Then when my ride came to pick me up I looked out the window and waved goodbye and silently said thanks for all the good times you were more than a piece of wood, you were a place of knowledge where we all change and mature in diffrent ways, but most importantly of all you were a place of laughter and joy where you felt welcome (except for "punks") and where the feeling of friendship and loved filled the air. Because in some way or another all of us who shared portable 17 loved and cared for each other. So as the end is upon us all I have to say is goodbye portable 17 its been a great time thanks for the memories!
